SO I JUST bought a new hand vacuum pump from harbor freight and the warning signs on the brass say brass contains lead!...

is there enough lead in there to make me worry, I dont touch the brass at all, but it looks like theres metal shavings generated when i use it, looks to be from the steel handle but not sure, and was just wondering if i should stop using this piece of equipment alltogether to be safe.. right now she doesent touch it EVER and il touch it maybe 4 hours a week or less...

its my first kid so im more than worried.. and just read this lead warning last night...

please any help is greatly appreciated

i cannot tell you anything related to your question, but why the EFF did you buy that POS? its going to give you POS results, IM sorry.

It works well for making honeycomb, I use both of my pumps still but im just gonna get a old electric pump next......

My main question is , she will be fine as long as she doesent touch it right?.. I mean it says it contains lead so I hope its not solid lead with brass coating.. I'm thinking of just throwing it away or returning if possible

The pump doesn't come in contact with anything but exhausted air and leaded brass isn't readily giving up the lead under normal conditions anyway.
