A copulpe years back I started shooting up heroin, bad idea, and I made bad decisions. I bought everything I needed to grow weed indoor, except I didn't have a place indoors to grow it, and if I had my wife would have shit a brick. I could have spent that money on more heroin at the time, haha.
Anyway, Im mostly clean now, and have a bunch of seed laying around. I got a divorce (who could have seen that coming) and moved back home with my parents. My dad has recently retired, and we sat out a nice garden. Which got me thinking....
I have germinating right now an Afghan Kush Ryder that is in a 2 gallon root pot which will be grown outdoor, in a farly open location with plenty of sun. Not too worried about this one.
Let me just also say that my only other attempt at growing in my life went rather well up until late August when my parents decided to have their woods bush hogged one morning, killing my very nice looking plants. This was 10 years ago or more.
Anyway, I have two options for growing a couple plants.
My parents property is divided by a creek (containing agracultural run off from a cattle field next lot over and up stream) but on the other side of the creek there is a wooded section that gets near full sun, and is pretty well secure. The only problem I can see is it floods when it rains a lot, which after this time of year does not happen most years. It typically floods once every 3-5 years, and we had one this spring. It could happen, but I doubt it. Anyway, I could place the plants along the creek bank or over close to the wooded area. I would plan on watering from the creek, unless anyone thinks there could be bad stuff the cattle are putting into the creek.
The other option is equally secure, however, there are cattle that graze in this area. I don't want to have to kill a cow for eating my plants. There are a few nice clearings which I think get a couple hours of morning sun, and several (5 or 6) direct afternoon hours of sun. This would be much easier to water with fresh clean water, and easier to keep an eye on, and is not on my parents property. I have never seen a human being in either location.
The strains are: Super Lemon Haze, Northern Lights x Big Bud, Blue Widow. I will have 3 of these. Not planning a major op at all. I have 2x of the SLH, the other one is one of those two strains, I dropped a seed in the yard as I was attempting to put it into a jiffy pot, and I couldnt find it.
The Soil will be native soil which is pretty good, and a mixture of mushroom compost. I have very little money to put into this grow, a heroin addiction has long lasting ramifications.
I guess my questions are this: Is Cattle a problem at eating your plants? What about rabbits and stuff? I really don't want to put any artificial things around the plants so I can help them blend in.
Is there anything I can buy to keep critters away without putting up a fence?
Thanks friends
