Need advice on what to purchase for exhaust system, +Rep to anyone who helps!

Yes. Intake and exhaust. Unless you're adding Co2. You want some fresh air in there. I have 3 going; 1 for cooling and exhausting my hood, 1 connected to my carbon filter exhausting air and scrubbing the smell, and 1 intake bringing in fresh air.

If you dont care about smell for any means then I would buy a 600cfm fan for lights and and use the same fan to extract air from tent thru lights and out window or etc. 2nd option is 2 fans 600cfm for lights and like 200cfm for extraction fan for pulling in fresh air. just have an opening for fresh air big enough to easily enter tent. If walls suck in you need more air opening for fresh air. If its minimal movement your good. A fan controller I would recommend as you can slow fans down for noise purposes and to help control temps in tent to a point if its cold in tent as you can slow air speed down to allow lights to warm tent etc.

personally i would just use bothe the fans for exhaust or just buy a huge fan and use a passive intake

Yup that will be plenty get a speed controller as well you can get cheao ones for 20 dollars . 600 is a bit much honestly but turn it down with the speed controller which in turns mean slower fan speeds less noise and can control light temps if its 60 in tent you xN turn fan speed way down to get tent warm then speed it up slightly to keep temps somewhat constant I always buy a lil bigger and use less

Liddle, don't I need fresh co2 & oxygen coming in? I've been cracking a window open a couple hours a day (risking bugs, I know) & she seems to be growing much faster!!Anzohaze, I'm with you there. I would much rather have more power available than not enough. I have the speed controller in my shopping cart as well One thing I don't completely understand: It seems as if a lot of people hook up there cold air intake to their lights. This makes sense to me b/c you can lower lights closer to plants, but if your fresh air is going through your cool tubes, how does it get in the tent? I actually just watched a video where he's exhausting through the hoods & bringing in fresh air down low. That makes much more sense to me. I either misunderstood what I read, or they didn't know what they were talking about ha.

A house/apartment has higher co2 content then outdoors as the air is not moving and you exhale co2 so a house has higher co2 levels then outside leave a window cracked and itwill get enough co2

I'm just a small med grower in 4x4 area using a 600W HPS. I just bought that plastic 6" inline fan that you listed first. I don't need any other fan. Right now I'm just pushing the air through light housing and then directly to the outside. No need for a filter as my neighbors are non existence now. It has a three speed setting so you don't have to buy a speed controller. It's moving a lot of air out of the grow room so there is a pretty good vacuum going on. I vent IN from my garage, from under the house, and from outside. I get fresh air and Co2 as my room contains a hot water heater and by keeping a vacuum in my room (negative pressure) I draw air from three places plus the hot water heaters pilot light's Co2. No need for a second fan. On dark time I just use a 250 cfm bathroom fan that sucks it out to the garage.

My co2 monitor just arrived & I figure that out! Crazy, I never thought of that. Ppm in house is approx. 280. Ppm outside is approx. 190. Isint this very low? So with that in mind is it better to not vent quite as often/crack the window?(for the time being) I've read plant growth comes to a halt at 200 ppm. Shoud I supplement co2 in some way?

My 5x5 flower room stays about 550-600 ppm until I open up the window. I have an "exhale" bag in there. After reading reviews I didn't think it worked, maybe I was very wrong. Anyone know of any other effective, cheap ways of supplementing co2? I know dry ice, yeast, pro co2 bucket, boost bucket & exhale bag. Anyone else know of any effective means of adding co2?

Hey man. I got a tent same size almost, but it equals 40 cubic feet and I got a inline fan with 260 cfm. We'll it didn't have an impact at all really. But when I hooked it up to my window blowing into the tent on 15 mins n off15 n now I stay at a good temperature all the time. I'm just letting you know cause I couldn't find that any were on line. So I thought I'd say that incase you have that happen. O n ps helps the moisture a lot, I had16% hum. Till I did that too.

Thank you for your reply. That's good letting the cold air in helped. Ill keep that in mind when setting it up. I hope this set up is enough to cool down the 1200w in the tent when I have it. Currently just have (1) 600w & it already gets up to 85-90 with 4 fans constantly blowing & the outside room cold as shit.
