the white hairs are pistils... pistils are meant to catch pollen...

those puppies will form flowers, which people call buds, in the plant....

the flowers or 'buds' will start forming where pistils begin to show...

it's a matter of waiting.....

a lot of plants have flowers with colors and stuff... the cannabis flower looks differnet...

yes, be patient and watch it grow. The hairs will increase greatly and some/many will die. It is a cycle that continues thru the grow. Often they grow for a little while and then chill for a few days. Buds will appear around the leave areas. keep an eye on hermi potential if white hairs are appearing. This kind of question sends you to the newbe question area if you haven't already been told? Your doing well unless the plant looks sick and leafs are dieing.

Buds are the female reproductive tissue of the plant. Think of flowering trees in spring time. The green bulges are the buds from much the petals emerge.

In cannabis its all the same but it looks different and typically "bud" refers to the mass of buds that you will eventually smoke. So those hairs are coming from the first calyx which is sort of part of the bud but the main bud will grow from the meristems (the top and sides of the plant).

Hope that helps.

but do the hairs turn into buds? or are buds serperate from that, and if white hairs are sprouting that means its in flowering and it will bud right?

I've had plants in veg show hairs when they have matured a bit. You may not even have changed to flower 12/12 for it to start showing male/female. Heavy flowering will start in the flower/12/12 period. It's like when fall hits and less sun and night comes earlier. These plants start to flower to reproduce. You will either get seeds in your buds if pollenated or sensi bud-no seed buds. The key is the plant has noticed less light and starts to reproduce to save it's genetics in nature.

Well since his plant is out side and it is the start of fall and all wouldn't you think the plant will start flowering???

most peoples plants are almost ready for harvest up here in the northeast.

most are swelling and getting ready to be cut. not just starting off. we are already getting frosts at night!
