Need Cloning Advice!

I have a grow box, One of my plants is reallllly shooting up, and almost outgrowing my box..
Is it safe to cut the top tier branches off (down to the growth nodes at the second tier), to reduce the height of the plant?
Or would doing so just fuck up the plant completely? And if it's safe, could I use those cuttings for clones?
FYI The plant is already in third week of flowering cycle.
Thanks!

no, at three weeks of flower it will stunt the plant and you will lose a lot of yield. just pinch the stem where you want to bend it, crush it between your fingers and roll it over your thumb to settle where you want it. it will form a thick knot where it was crushed and end of branch will start growing up again.

So.. Just to be clear.. I pinch it and roll the branch so that it points down? or sideways?.. And Pinching it won't kill the head bud?

Yes pinch it and make it soft enough to bend it to the side. In a few days that branch will reach back up with a thicker stem and more side branches shooting up. If you don't want the top to go back up you could LST. Tie down the top to the side is another option.
