Ok as per the pics, I have just started these from seeds about 6-7 days ago. 3 days until the germinated and poped out a root? then I put them in that hydroponic system. The light Super HPS is about 2.5 feet from plants 600w bulb but set to 50% on the adjustable ballast. Should I be using the Metal Halid bulb at this stage instead? I am feeding them water (tap) 3 times per day about 30min drip. The stems on 3 plants bent down and touched the pot cocowool thingy. I put some sticks to keep them up. The other 3 plants in the system look good and strong. They range 2-3inches tall, is this maybe too tall?

It is holding around 73`F inside the room.

Just dont want my littles to die, first time doing this.

/Thx in advance all.

If it was me I would ditch the HID and use CFLs in this stage...it will stop that stretch so they won't fall over...lol...CFLs can be put right over them, like an inch or 2 above, this will stop that "bad" stretch...good luck...and hey Welcome to RIU...

So when would I go back to the HID lights? 2-3 weeks in or more? I am reading conflicting information on boards, grow bibles and other pdf's :( Anyone have a good step by step with timeframe or so to sorta follow?

I think you should stay with the 600w now they have hardened off to it. Slowly lower the light (couple inches a day) to stop the stretch. They will be ok.

*BUDS thx. for the advice. I heeded your expertise and did what you said. I kept the 600w and did not go over to CFL's. Lowered the light an inch, it is now at 50% on ballast and 2ft from plants and they stood straight up like a.......... well you get the point :-) I am lowering an inch a day, should I maybe try to up the ballast strength to 75% then 100% instead or wait with that because everything looks good I think?
