Hello all and thanks for helping! I purchased a 10" Can Max Fan to push air through my air cooled lights, yet it is VERY loud. I even added TWO of the Phresh Duct Silencers, one before the fan and one after the fan to try and kill the noise... I must say that the silencers do work but each one only killed about 10-15% of the noise, but its still too much. I have it running full speed at 1014 CFM and I am thinking that with the use of a rhetostat I could slow it down another 20% and it should be very quiet and still have super high CFMs... I do hear noise coming from the intake on the Phresh 10" x 32" filter as well, which I would also like to quiet... I also read on here about making a DIY box around the fan body and filling it with memory foam or dynamat to kill the motor resonance. Do you have any links to a good DIY fan box that would work for the 10" Can Max Fan? I read that I cannot use a cheap speed control like the speedster or titan speed controls, because they do not work like a rhetostat and I thought I read on here that you can ONLY use a rhetostat on the CAN MAX line of fans... Please provide me with a link to a rhetostat that will work with the 10" Can Max Fan, and links to a DIY fan housing muffler box, if that is the correct route to take... Please help me get this fan setup quieter as I need the high CFMs this fan puts out, I just can't have the noise... THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!

Is your ducting insulated? If not might wanna consider that route if the noise is to loud from fan. When I didnt have insulating ducting to my exhaust it was quite loud.

I wish it were that easy... I read online that the speedster fan controllers and titan fan controllers will NOT work with a Can Max Fan.... Only something called a rhetostat will work, and I am not sure if it has to be the Can brand or not... Anyone with knowledge please advise as to which specific Rhetostat I can use... Thanks again all for your help, this issue is really stressing me out!

Is there anybody out there with a 10" Can Max Fan dialed down 20% on a speed controller that is not buzzing or overheating due to the speed control? I heard the speedster type will slow it down but also make the motor buzz more. I know the Can brand speed control that doesnt cause buzzing and is a rhetostat but its $300...

fill out the contact form on their site, see if they ship to the states. Looks good not much info on them though

Get a router speed control from harbor freight. How is the fan mounted too? Hanging from bungee cords is the best way to isolate vibration.
