hey hows it going ? this is my first indoor grow and I have a few simple questions soo far the plants are 6 weeks old and I germinated them and put them straight under a 400 watt hps light. they are between 8 and 11 inches tall and have 6 full sets of leaves. For my first question I was wondering when the best time to top my plants would be if it is even nesessary to top them atol ? .. also I was wondering about the fowering stage .. I have about 4 feet of usable space so i was hopeing to keep them kinda short thats where topping comes into my mind. and also either way what would be the best time to change my light cycle to 12/12 ? p.s. they also have alternating nodes.. anyways please get back to me asap that would be great thanks alot.

You are at the perfect stage to top them. If you would like 4 main colas, you need to top them about 1/2" above the second node. Count only the true leaves. It's a piece of cake and if you are prepared to take advantage of the tops, you can use them as clones. If you have any questions just lemme know.
