OK, so I know the first things I'm going to get are LINKS to plant problems and solutions, deficiencies, etc etc... And be asked why I haven't checked these threads! Well I HAVE and it seems non are EXACTLY what I need! So any help is greatly appreciated!
First and foremost, this is my first auto grow and is supposed to be done in a week... Doesnt look like that's going to be the case, but hell... I was still a SHORT STRAIN! I use all organic products from my soil (organic seed starting mix with no NPK value and a "homemade fox farms - happy frog medium" to transplant into once its not a sprout anymore! ) Aka perlite, organic potting mix (no NPK), a dash of "FF Happy Frog" top fertilizer, peat moss and thats about it. I can assure u that there's no "hot spots" and the soil is mixed a billion times over again before being planted into!
But as I was saying, I've NEVER grown an auto so I just went with the basics! It was in veg 20/4 light cycle for about 2-3 weeks before it showed its first two pistils. I followed the directions of the FF TRIO and started it on tiger bloom immediately! I also transplanted it into a bigger pot (its finishing pot) because it was up to about 4-5 leaf sets....
All that bein said, its still under a 20/4 light cycle and is budding, side branching pretty decent. I'm wondering if the yellowing, dying of the leaves is over fertilizing or a mag/Cal lockout. The PH is right around 6.5 going in (give or take a point or so) and around 5.9 runoff. It WAS worse than that! I've fixed it using grinded up egg shells as a top dressing and a shot of mag sulphate here and there. I also gave it a foiler spray of some N, I've tried EVERYTHING from hydrated lime to banana peels trying to fix this shit! The leaves die in no particular order, It can be a brand new leaf or an older "bud leaf". It usually begins around the edges and tips though and then spreads to brown spots, curling upwards of the leaf tips and then death... I know know it seems like I'm doin TOO much but if I do nothing, it only gets worse! Trust me.. I think a lot of it is heat stress, I've started leaving the door open with an EXTRA fan blowing in, today the temps have dropped from a steady 90+ to a steady 80 degrees! I KNOW that SOME of it was/is heat stress but I feel like its something else as well - as ull see in the pics! Any info is appreciated, yet again!
Secondly, I also have a Dinafem WW sprouting/growing rapidly! The only thing that scares me about this plant AT ALL is the yellowing of its first set of TRUE leaves. Along with A LITTLE brown around the edges of these two particular leaves. The rest of the growing sprout looks AMAZING, purple and DARK green. I know they say that N deficiency usually starts at the bottom fan leaves, so is that what this is? Ready for ferts? Grow Big? It got a SMALL dose of grow big yesterday when I saw these leaves doing what they're doing! Or is this a mag/Cal def. as well?! This one I'm truly worried about, not because It looks worse but because its the one I want to THRIVE!
THE PICS EXPLAIN IT ALL! HAVE A LOOK, ULL BE ABLE TO TELL WHICH IS THE WW SPROUT AND WHICH IS THE CRITICAL JACK AUTO... IF NOT, U PROLLY SHOULDN'T COMMENT! LOL
IF U LOOK AT THE FAR AWAY PHOTOS OR THE ONES WITHOUT FLASH, U CANT REALLY SEE THE PROBLEM AREAS! LOL...
MAIN COLA STARTING TO SWELL WITH CYLAXES... LEAVES JUST MAKE IT TERRIBLE LOOKING! I REMOVE A LOT OF THEM THOUGH, I know I should only If its 75% more or dead, if at ALL. But I'm sorry, if there's a fan leaf in front of a grow spot and its 40% more dead - its gone! Lol... I just hate an ugly plant and I like to see the fruits of NY labor GROW! If u disagree then just agree to disagree, to each his own. And YES I understand what the fan leaves do for the plant in every period of the growth. Just my way of growing!
LOTS OF SIDE BRANCHING TOO! GOING TO TRY AND TURN THE ENTIRE POT INTO A FORREST FULL OF HAIRS, GROW SPOTS AND SQUISHY SKUNK BUDS!!!
