Whats the best way to reduce the white noise from an exhaust fan? Talking a 6", taped to ducting, with 3 settings, running at lowest to vent a 4 tent daisy-chain setup currently the thin tent walls definitely not cutting it. Thanks for your time,
mpp

You already have Carbon filter fitted?

Could probably hang up egg crate foam on the walls of your grow tent. That might save you a couple decibels... just don't melt it/catch it on fire with HID.

Unless you are talking about the air moving through the duct, then that's easy.

yea on the filter, matched to the diameter/cfm of the fan etc.
Like the foam egg crate idea, but that kind of kills the point of having a mylar interior, encasing the fan itself is kind of the direction I was going. Maybe foam/sandbags kinda thing maybe in a tub? gettin the gears rollin...Im pretty sure it is the fan itself not the air.

cover fan in plastic, then put the fan in a wooden box, drill holes on two sides, and then spray sound deadening expanding foam into box, the other hole should allow the excess to expand out... dont overdo the foam, as might explode on ya ;)
