is that your exhaust fan mounted on the wall
hey if that's your exhaust on the wall with duct tape i suggest you you pipe it to your air cooled reflector. The exhaust will be sucking out all the major heat that is given off the light.

Thanks all !!! I have another question, I don't have the glass for the reflector does that make a difference? Will it still suck out most of the hot air? Thanks again!!!!

just attach your exhaust to your hood...that should drop temps a few degrees with very little effort

ya get the glass lens..that looks like a sealed system..so the hood and glass should make a tight seal..then run flex duct to 1 side of it.. and run that shit to an exhaust fan..if it remains too hot after that..then put a Y fitting on your intake on the floor, and run 1 side of it to the other side of your lamp, so that the exhaust fan is not just exhausting hot bulb air, its dragging cool intake air over the hood. 1 1000watter u should be able to totally skip the a/c with adequate inline fan and right ducting.. unless ur inside temp w. out lighting is already in the 90-100's like FL, Vegas..DC then u need portable.. but id say get ur ducting right man...

dont get glass from home depot its not tempered you need tempered glass if you are going to do it. I would attach my exhaust to my lamp then check temps in an hour or so if you still need to get it cooler get some tempered glass. If it still is to hot attach the other end of the light to a cool air intake. That should take care of it if not let us know.

If your looking for the tempered glass first call any hydroponics store near you and ask if they have a replacement lens for your hood. You might also be able to get a hold of the manufacture online and ask them where to get it. If not and you cant find a place that sells the lens call a local glass/window repair shop and tell them what size you need in tempered glass (some places don't sell it so you may have to look around) and make sure you tell them the right size because tempered glass isn't cut like regular glass and you dont want it to short and have to buy another piece of glass.

Nice ill try connecting the exhaust fan to the reflector first and see how that works. Cause im in the basement which is all concrete it stays in the 70's all day. It's only when the light comes on it heat's up to 80's. I keep the door open all night when the light is on which keeps it around 76-78 but as soon as i close the door it heats right up. I like the idea with the Y run cool air to the light and let it get sucked out with the hot. Ill try that too and just add another bathroom fan to bring more cool air in. I love this site it's great for troubleshooting... Thanks again ill let you guys know how it works out!!!!!! peace

Ill see how it works out without the glass first and see if that works if not ill be getting that glass.. Peace

Well thanks for the help !!!! I built a box around my exhaust fan, added a 6in flange, and ran the flex duct from the hood to the exhaust box.. I also added another intake fan on the other side of the room.. Now the room with the door shut stays a steady 78.6 deg. Humidity is around 50-65... It's working great.. Ill have some pictures up next week. Well thanks again Peace
