Net Pots Inside Regular Hydro Pots for Ebb and Flow....

I have these netted pots sitting in a normal hydro 6in pot but the netted pot doesnt come as close to the ground since they are sitting inside the other 6in pot. My question is related to the gap of air in the bottom of the pot. Should I fill it up with hydroton to be supported or can roots just hang down in total darkness?

I would have to fill the regular pot a quarter way up with hydroton and just sit the other pot on top flush with the lid....

You should be fine with those roots hanging down like that. Your roots are already supported by hydroton and as long as your plant currently has the strength to stand up on its on with the roots its developed then you really have nothing to worry about.

That empty space where your roots are exposed within the bucket will actually be good for the plant since the roots will be able to breath better when you don't have the system flooded. Hope that helped.
