Hey guys. I'm a complete beginner to this and I think it shows on my two plants. Whilst I'm waiting for my pH pen to arrive I decided to write up a post here, hoping for some good insights from more experienced growers that will hopefully remedy this situation. Anyway, here's some info about my plants, my setup and their corresponding pictures:
- plant 1: Sensi seeds northern lights auto (day 1 of week 10)
- plant 2: Fast & furious nitrous northern lights auto (day 1 of week 10)
Soil: Plagron growmix in 8L (2.11 gal) textile pots
Feeding schedule:
- Foxfarm Big Bloom: 5ml / 1.5L (1 tsp / 0.4 gallon) with every other watering starting from week 4
- Metrop MR2 bloom solution: I needed to dilute this with water and use the diluted solution because the concentrated fertilizer was very VERY thick. I Made a 10% diluted solution by mixing 100ml of concentrate with 500ml of water and stored it in the fridge. Then I used 6ml of diluted solution / 1.5L water with every other watering, starting from week 6
Water: Like I said, I'm waiting for my pH pen so when I started noticing problems on week 6 or 7 I tried measuring and adjusting the pH of my water using pH strips and 5% apple vinegar (4ml / 1.5L). Out of the tap my water seemed to be around 7.4 pH, with very low chlorination and after adjustment it read around 6.5 but I can't be certain as these strips are hard to pinpoint exactly.
Training: Some light LST with leaf tucking to expose buds and occasionally plucking off a yellowing/dead leaf here and there.
Tent: 40cm x 40cm x 120cm
Light: HLG 100 V2 (3000K)
Light cycle:
- weeks 1 through 7 - 18/6
- weeks 8 through 9 - 16/8
- week 10 - 15/9
(The idea is to slowly give it less light in the final weeks to promote bud thickening and ripening)
Humidity: around 50% with 20 degrees Celsius (68F)
As you will see from the pictures, plant 2 is fairing far better than plant 1, and they seem to be exhibiting somewhat different signs of deficiencies (plant 1 has purple stems + rust, plant 2 has dry, curling leaf tips, etc...)
Anyway, sincerely thank you for taking your time to help a brother out and I hope I can save them in the final 3 - 4 weeks that they have left.
Now for the pictures:
