Hello forum, I am currently on my first grow of 12 black widows in soil. Everything is going well enough. I was not really sure where to post this, as I have a few questions.
Anyways, I am looking to setup a perpetual grow system. I am going to be growing Chronic from Serious seeds in ebb and flow tables.
So here are my questions
1) What is the deal with feminized strains? I have heard conflicting reports about feminized strains. I have read many people say that they hermie more often than regs and some reports that they are great. So should I go with the fems or regs for Chronic?
2) I have read some SOG grow guides but I have not seen this particular question addressed. How should I go about picking a mother for the Chronic strain? Specifically, how many females do I need to grow out to find a suitable mother? And while I am growing them, should I grow them like I would for sog? That is, should I grow them to ~6" and then flower them, like would normally be done in sog?
3) My grow room is about 14' long x 2' wide. I don't have an exact plan yet, but here is the basic idea: I will have the trays 2' wide and about every 2 or 3 feet I will leave a foot or two to go in and trim them. My question is how should I light this area? The space is only 2' wide so it seems that too high of a wattage would be mostly wasted going out horizontally, even though I could put mylar on the walls. But on the other hand, if I use 250s or 400s then I will have to spend more money on more lighting fixtures and spend more time setting it up. So what do you guys think the best lighting setup? I guess what I would focus on most is getting the most efficient lighting setup so that it is efficient as possible to save on electricity.
