So I had a Daikin 24k btu mini split installed a month and half ago. I just started running it a for the 1st time a few days ago, past few everything was keeping cool . I'm running 4 1ooow by the way but only have 3 of them running because garden is not full yet. Reason I just started running it is for the past month the only had 2 of the 1000w running and was able to keep temps down with inline fan and the fact that the northeast is still winter and cold. Anyways I just went down in garden 10 mins before lights went out and temps where 85f. Wtf could be causing this? This is a new unit installed by a friend of a friend who is a HVAC guy. Anyinputwould be appreciated, thanks

Probably a coolant leak. I don't have problems with my Mitsubishi but the Chinese POS Gree needs to be charged 2x summer... My solution, next time spend the extra cash for Mitsubishi. I know that I will. By the way, my Gree is leaking from the compressor and not the lines! It's seriously aggravating spending that much on a Chinese knock off because that is exactly what it is, China tried to steal the design from Japan. Intellectual theft...

I thought Daikin was a solid brand...

I researched Gree before I bought it and thought that they were solid also! Chinese POS! I haven't had to touch my Mitsubishi in 3yrs so far. Mitsubishi came up with the inverter style compressor and all of the other oriental brands are just a rip-off.

I'm in the same boat with my Gree, I just have to keep refilling it... I refuse to buy shit from China now!

Mitsubishi makes some very high quality units. Definitely the favorite if the budget allows. Often speced for cooling of server rooms because they are rock solid reliable and they have such good low ambient numbers.

That said I have a couple cheapo Midea 4 ton units that get the job done. I went with those because they were cheap and I didn't have the budget for a mitsubishi and they had a nice ceiling mount setup that worked for my situation. I think the quality of the cheaper brands varies a lot, perhaps even from day to day. A mitsubishi or toshiba compressor is something to look for as a sign of quality.

Your only saving $200-400 by buying the other brands. In the future, I would suggest that a person saves a little extra and buy Mitsubishi. My Gree already costed me more from maintenance.

Well in my case it was a couple thousand dollars per unit in savings.

minisplitwarehouse.com has some cheap prices.

Daikin is a good brand, Mitsubishi is a good brand , Gree i agree has some problems. Midea is the worlds largest manufacturer of mini splits and make very good products under a host of different names, they make most of the indoor heads for Daikin Mitsubishi and every other manufacturer in the world. When it comes down to it these 4 are about it for manufactering lines.

Your problem could be a number of things there are a lot of sensors that could be weak and not reading correctly.
