I am planning the following LEGAL setup... also looking for help/comments on any glaring errors or omissions. Any/all input from experienced growers would be greatly appreciated.
1) 10'x6'x8' lwh flower room
2) 4'x4'x8' veg/clone room
3) Both totally enclosed (for future c02 supp) with 3mil blk/wht poly. For my 1st few grows I will use yeast/sugar bottle(s) to make co2.
4) 4" inline fan venting thru air cooled reflector. Incoming air will come from outside of both grow rooms thru a charcoal filter and exit outdoors
5) 1k HPS on a 7' long light mover
6) DEFINITELY ORGANIC GROW so... 7 gallon pots for soil. Organic ferts
7) 90w UFO led light for 24 hr veg.
Fan speed controller to lessen the fan noise and control the exhaust of heat/humidity
9) Digital Temperature/Humidity monitor with hi/lo memory installed in the flowering room
10) Two oscillating room fans. Maybe 1 only in the flower room since leds run cool
So this is my idea of a non-automated semi-low budget grow room. I have pondered about this room for 2-3 weeks now. Seems like a good starting point on which to expand. More to come (automation controls, co2 tank) as time goes on. FYI all of this fits inside an 11x11 room.
The room has the standard 15 amp circuitry and I will be close to the safe capacity of 1440 watts. 1000 for hps, 90 for LED, 80 for inline fan, 70 for oscillating fan, and finally 5.5 for the light rail for a grand total of 1246. Leaving me with approx 200 watts... This brings up my question regarding digital ballasts and maybe this should be it's own thread...
How long can I expect a 1000W Eye Hortilux Super HPS to last with a Lumatek or a Nextgen ballast? I have heard about the Hz incompatibility, but then these Dig ballast makers say that the soft start feature can extend the bulb life 3x's Since this is a growers message board, there should be some growers out there that have actually used this exact setup and can give their experiences on longevity. Thanks all for reading my BS and posting your responses
