New Stealth...ish veg box [PICS]

Just finished a long and exhausting project. Actually its not finished but its the best im willing to do right now...so im not even gonna give specs on it but heres some pics.

intake

exhaust

no plants

plants

the one in the biggest pot just got replanted into vermic/perl/worm castings mix because it was burning bad. Other one is still in original soil mix with same treatment with no burns but I did use powdered root hormone on the transplant from the Solos for it...interesting eh? Other 2 just germed. Different variables in all pots, in the name of science!:bigjoint:

looks a lot like mine... I didn't bother with all the fans though, just got one on the outside pushing cold air in, and some vents on top.

Paint the Inside white
I use a passive intake I just drilled air holes in the Bottom side
barely any light comes out
and I have a computer fan exhausting air on the side towards to the top
In my opinion its better to pull out the hot air with the fan than to pull cold air in
My temps do better this way
I run about 300 watts sometimes with np

My temps are perfect with this setup but humidity is too low so yeah ill probably turn one fan into a vent. I need a little more cash before i can improve the light reflection/escaption problem though, but its my next step.

If you need to increase humidity, just put some more water into the box.. like 500ml in a small cup.

As for reflection, mat white spray paint.. $4 a can. If you want to really make it light tight, spray a coat or two of black first, then a couple coats of white over top of that. Right now the tub is absorbing all the good spectrum that could be going back on your ladies.

Perfectly safe, just gotta give things enough time to dry... you can get quick drying that should be good to go in 24 hours.

this looks like an awesome set up, i like how you used just one rubbermaid tote more stealthy than stacking the 2 on top of each other. are you planning on doing LST then?

hope to see this updated! looking good so far man

The party is getting bigger...but some of the guests weren't invited.

My prettiest IMO

The underside of her. Isn't she pretty...wait...what the fuck is that??

Well hello there. Don't remember putting you on the VIP list (Very Important Plants)...out you go!

The burn victim, but her heart still beats and she took the transplant amazingly. Didn't skip a beat in getting big from what I can tell.

C decided to show up. Casually late as always.

And the setup again. Not much improvement yet. Just a couple more lights.

Might i make a suggestion to benifit your grow. Remove the round reflectors from your CFL's, and turn em on their sides like your middle two. The tips of a cfl produces 30% less lumens than from the sides. In this case the only side light your plants get is reflected, thus further weakening the penetration and light saturation. It would be much more benifical to make the entire interior reflective. Reflectors are highly ineffictive with CFL's for one main reason. CFL Photons emitted do not have a liniar path like HPS or HID bulbs. They scatter within the first inch, and more and more each inch after. This type of light is particularily difficult to focus, which is the reason plants respond to CFL's well if kept within 2 " from the tops of the plants. Also that aluminum tape your using only has about a 70% if not less reflective properties. You could easily bump that up to about 90% or higher with some plain contractors grade flat white Wall primer or paint. Get a few good coats on there. Makes big difference.

No not with tha lights but basically tha same set up tha guy had an intake and exhaust fan no lights you drill a few holes on boath sides of the rubbermaid bin, make sure their level and stick wooden bamboo skewers you knw the real long ones you make shishkabob out of not sure if I spelled tht right or you could use wire or string. Run it through the holes and hang your budz and let them dry.

Yea i know the domes need to go but it was my best option without making the box a nightmare to get in. i plan on doing the PVC frame ive been seeing with cfls around it. hopefully i can make it so it just sets in and can be lifted out all at once. thanks for all the advice.
