I am a Michigan medical mj refugee - I grew up in South Florida, where people didn't really grow until 9/11 - it was coming through the ports and was so easily accessible that it didn't make financial $$$ense to grow your own. Things have changed since then... I moved to Indy 8 years ago and then lived in Cincinnati for a year before deciding to relocate to Michigan to get my legal card and become a caregiver. I haven't been here for long, but the MI medical MJ community has been very welcoming and helpful - I have met several people on the forums that are willing to give advice and have found a mentor that has been growing for 30+ years that is willing to help me without expecting anything in return - he sees how eager I am to learn and that I am appreciative and that is all he is looking for. Just wanted to say that MI is a pretty good place to be, if you haven't checked it out yet, I highly (haha) recommend that you do so. Just look at the regulations for the area that you choose - some places are VERY MJ friendly but there are plenty that are not. Ann Arbor has always been - hash bash goes back about 50 years, I think. A good gauge is to go to weedmaps.com and see where the dispensaries are located. That is a good way to see what places are tolerant - it can be kind of daunting to try to read through the legislation for each city/town to see where MJ is accepted.
