Once or twice a week. Lift your flower pot to see how heavy it is. Then more a less you know when you have to water your plant. If your pot is heavy you don't water, If its light then you water.! Some people say they water 200ML of water but that may be incorrect because if you have a 3 gallon flower pot, that 200ML of water may never reach the bottom of pot! So what I do Is water the soil until I see slight drainage at the bottom of my flower pot, Then I know that water reached every part of my flower pot! I hope this helps.

I have grown plants for years, the method I use is take your finger and stick it in the soil about a half inch to an inch, if you feel moisture don't water. Another helpful thing is to put a saucer underneath the pot and water in the saucer, but this method should be only used when the plant is established. Something besides water is what are you doing for lighting, this is very important. Without proper lighting, your plant will become stringy and fall over. If you start seeing it stretch to much get some lighting. The easiest is to get a flourescent light and put it about a half inch away from the plant, moving as the plant grows. Just the flourescent light is not going to serve you very well. Check out some of the indoor grow threads for further info. Good Luck and Grow happy and have fun.
