Newb grow / Questions

Hey guys... I've been lurking and telling what little I know for a little over a month now. I'll tell you all about my grow and ask a few questions, sorry if it is long.
I've got 2 very healthy Blueberry/M39 (the dealer called it Blue39) that are 42 days old, and 2 days into flowering. They are in 1x1x2ft soil pot (cramped I know, this was my 1st experimental grow ).

I have:
4 CFL's rated for 2700lumens each, 2700k
3 CFL's rated for 1900lumens each, 6500k
1 tube fluorescent rated 970lumens, not sure of the spectrum
Give or take just shy of 20,000 fluorescent lumen's. The lights are all hung at different heights and on top of the plants to give as even light as possible, and I rotate the pot frequently.

I was feeding Schultz 10-15-10 at 1/4 strength for the first 3 weeks, then onto MiracleGrow 24-8-16, which I figure I will stay on until the end. Had some burning on older big fan leaves, but trimmed them as they were low and not getting any light.

They've been LST'd quite nicely if I do say so myself, controlling the growth away from each other to avoid shading, right now the main grow stem is upright as I haven't re-tied it recently. My question is, should I let them grow out with the ties, or should I continue to keep the growth low by tying them down every few days?

Also, I've trimmed a fair bit of the old burned fan leaves, maybe 3-4 over the last 3 weeks. I've debated trimming the lower small leaves despite some of the things I have read about getting big main top cola's.

I'll have pics up later on tonight.

Anyone have any tips/criticism? I'll take it all.
Anything I should be doing/not doing during flowering, videoman says try a bit of molasses?? (IF any are female)

(:

I've done sooo much reading and I still have a shitload more to go, but it might help to note that I got the howtohydroponics pdf and plan to build the aeroponic unit they have plans for, and getting a HPS in combination with my fluoros....
So I wanna do it right next time!!

Hey dude...PICTURES, I love pictures. lol, thats what you should be doing RIGHT NOW! PICTURES, PICTURES & more PICTURES.

I'm just playing with you, I guess I'm feeling my oats right about now, and having some fun at the same time.

Hey, you'll need more of these for flowering..."4 CFL's rated for 2700lumens each, 2700k" This is the range you want for flowering. I wouldn't eliminate the others, I would just add more of the 2700k bulbs. Unless you have to eliminate them for some reason, like you need the sockets.

I dont really know too much about the nutes you are using, except that I have Schultz's rooting hormone.

I don't know alot about hydro first hand. I've only grown in soil, however I have done alot of research into it, as it interests me.
I came up with a low cost hydro system and posted it here if you want to read it.

Thanks a lot man. I just got 2 of those 2700k for flowering, but damn I dont have any more socket space, I'd have to buy more fixtures and get another timer to plug into my OTHER powerbar to get those going. Thats a good idea, done; by the weekend more 2700k.
Now that I'm thinking about it, would it be good to have some of the lights come on first and then the rest like 10mins later or something? reduce the intense dark/light change? I don't know...
The pics I have are a huge res, and I don't have photoshop, so I've gotta wait, I'll get my friend to re-size them. The pics I have are at 25 days, and i'll take more tonight

....

JUST IN:
I was just looking at the beautiful dense growth and I THINK I see what appears to be little hairs on the nodes of uno enfant....HMMM, I WONDER???
This excites me and it should, but is it too soon to tell?? They've only been flowering for a few days, 2 full days now (I started them with a 12hour dark period. So from the first 12hour light period it has been 2 full days..)

Too early? I hope not :D

Thanks for the wicked info video,
I'll keep this post as my grow log and update with pictures as often as I see notable changes :)

muchlove,
Landoh

dude, go to photobucket.com open a free account and upload your pics there. That way the resizing is automatic. Than paste em into your threads.

Dude, you are listening, but I think I am failing you with not enough information....Please let me take a moment further of your time and explain photobucket for you to get better results. After you upload your photo, you'll notice under each photo,
3 choices, (A) URL link (B) HTML Tag (C) IMG Code

you want to copy and paste (C) the IMG code into your thread here, and this way you'll end up with a post that looks like this:

When you do the copy and paste, you are still just going to see the text, until you click "post" than it'll transform into the picture.
Peace

As promised, I have taken more pictures of my freshly flowering infants...

I know for a fact one of them is a female, and the other two I haven't been able to notice much..Only day 6 of flowering though, so I will know soon enough

I am leaving momentarily to go get some more 2700k CFL's to assist in the process, and I am also going to look for a blooming fertilizer that I can use, i'll post what I end up coming home with :D

As for the pics, some of them are not very clear, but what can yah do!
You can see the newbie LST job I did, the other stalk looks much better... should have taken a pic of that one instead, oh well.

Thats pretty much it, just waiting to see what kind of results I will get out of not a lot of CFL's. For my next grow I will be getting low watt HPS for flowering and PERHAPS a MH for veg PLUS all the CFL's I have now...So progressively, things will get betta (:

Cheers for now!

Dude your looking GREAT! I understand your lighting and all but, why dont you go check out home depot or lowes, sometimes you can get a 70 watt hps for like $25.00 on clearance. It'll help your yeild & quality.
It IS all about yeild and quality, and that will help you on the cheap.
I know you gotta be really excited right about now.
Wait til you smoke what you grew, you'll love it!
Peace.

haha so ironic. I was at home depot yesterday and they had 75watt HPS back-yard floodlights and such, but I have NO wiring experience and really have no idea where to start. Those are wall-mounted units and I don't know wtf I'm doing...So I didn't buy it.

Get it, and head on over to electrical dept prior to buying, they'll walk you thru everything on the cheap & safe too.
Just tell em you want a permanent plug spliced onto the light.

Im not sure but a 75w HPS dose not sound right to me. It maybe a Mercury Vapor light doubble check the pakaging to make sure it is HPS. Your plants are looking good. Keep up the good work.

hey man, I was reading your post. You have some pics with photobucket. nice. in that set of pics is a link to all your other pics. I would recommend removing the ones of you and your friends. Be carefull. p.s. your plants look great.

Thanks rooster I already caught on to that. Those pictures are totally unrelated, they were for a bands website I was making. So no worries, but I do appreciate the advice (:

It definatly was a HPS light, I think it was 70w or 75 I can't remember, but there was 75w MV lights there as well, they were both clearly marked on the box and I pulled both out of the boxes to have a good look. My ONLY concern is the freaking wiring, I am COMPLETELY lost and wouldn't really feel comfortable messing with those... I wonder if home depot could or would do it?

Yeah they are hps lights, I saw them the other day. They are in the security light section. Landon, I sent you a PM. You can handle the wiring if you do what I told you to do.
Peace

Just an update for everyone on my grow.

These pictures are day 8 or 9 of flowering, I can't remember.
Anyways, I have 3 plants, 2 are girls and 1 is a boy....Nice odds if I do say so myself.
I plan on harvesting the pollen from the male, so I'm keeping him controlled as the pics will show. I have LST'd 2/3 of the plants.
Pic 1 & 2: the lone male the LST job I did
Pic 3: Side shot of the entire pot.
Note: there are all 3 plants in about a 1x1 pot...SOOO cramped..

Its my first grow so this is ok, I will only improve :)
