if i continue my plants under a 18hour cfl will it continue to grow going into my 4th week? until i change to hps on 12hour or do the plants get to a certain stage on 18hour that they will stop until changed to 12hour

yes it will continue to grow...the nodes will start alternating and it will show signs of sex, then you can switch...or you can switch whenever you want to.

No. You generally want to avoid herms. You can get feminized seeds from herms but you stand a good chance at those seeds herming out as well. You want females, everything else is a waste unless you're breeding.
