Newbie In-ground... My babies' leaves are dying PLEASE HELP

My seven babies are 5 weeks old. I transplanted them to the ground 1 week ago. They range in size from 11" down to 8" (Not the biggest but it is my first grow). Now I have dying leaves on them. The soil is just ground dirt with compost and a small amount of organic fertilizer. The garden is 16" deep and each plant has a 2'x2' growing area. They lack some late afternoon sun but I dont think that would cause leaf burn. I see no bugs. How much water should they be getting? I keep the soil moist at finger depth. Should I cut the unhealthy stems and leaves off? Any constructive advice is greatly appreciated.

started indoors under cfl's. 4 weeks and they looked fine until after transplant

Just because you don't see them on the plant now doesn't mean they aren't feeding on it or other insects. Get an insecticide you find acceptable and treat them.

Do you have any suggestions for an insectiside? I would like to stay as natural as possible.

Google is your friend. I grow indoors and not soil I'll only use something if there's a need to eradicate them. I don't have to deal with caterpillars or grasshoppers in a tent.

im not sure that caterpillars could cause the leaves to weep but i do see some holes in a leaf

if your indoors ik ph is a big thing thats why i said that but that got me thinking is it necessary for plants outdoors

PH is a measure of acidity in your soil and water. Nothing to do with your environment. You need to go do more research before making assumptions and attempting to lend others as green as you are advice.

my bad. i was looking at different threads and one guys plant looked like that and his solution was his ph was off
