they will need a bigger place eventually.. The deeper the roots can go the better the growth will be.. Get Some 5 Gallon pots.. That will suppport them till harvest, or till there 5' tall neways

How deep is that? Is it really only 2 inches deep or are my eyes playing tricks on me. The bigger they get the harder it will be to transplant them so do it soon. Roots grow straight down first then loop back up around so the roots are probably going to be tangled together soon. They look pretty good for where they are at tho. They look a little hungry and need a bump of N but not too bad. Transplant into some 3- 5gal pot with slightly nuted soil and keep on doin what your doing.

am doing this in my backyard so i will plant them there what will i need to do to the ground to prepare for them or do i just put them in the ground

They are a little too close together but you can train the tomato forward and away from the cannabis. They would always love lots more space. At this time of year transplanting them into a different place will cause some shock to the plant and will result in reduced yield so it may be too late to correct it. You can bend the two cannabis plants away from each other and that will give each a little more room. Good luck

To plant in your Backyard.. Pick up some pro-mix (or wahtever soil you prefer), some vermiculite, and some perlite, worm castings and other additives help.. Just not blood or bone meal that will attract pests.. Use woprm castings and bat guanos, and manures if anything

N is nitrogen. The main nutrient in grow nutes (as opposed to blooming nutes). On the back of ferted soil and and nutes you'll see the N-P-K rating. Nitrogen Phosphorus and Potassium. The plants need mostly N less K and a a small amount of P when in vegetative mode (before it starts to flower). Common ratios for grow nutes are around 3 - 1 - 2. Although it may be expressed like 24 - 8 - 16 or something along those lines. Icanadian is right about the soil amendments. You could even dig a hole and fill it with some time release nuted soil like miracle grow. The stuff that says it feeds up to 6 months. Well it wont feed for 6 months but it will get you through veg for a couple months. Then when its time to flower you can just add some blooming stuff like kelp meal and phosphate rock or such to the top of the soil. As for what jessy said transplanting them somewhere else will definitely yield more than trying to keep them in the tiny trough so I don't know what their point is.

To clarify what I was said: I live at 38 deg. lat and our flowering will begin in about 3-4 weeks. Bostoner lives? at 42 deg lat.and can expect flowering to start in 5-6 weeks. If the OP lives in Vancouver or similar lat then he can expect to start flowering in 7-8 weeks. Here it might not be a good idea to transplant because you will loose 7-10 day of veg time. At higher lat. that time loss won't be as significant so it would be a good idea to transplant to a larger container. Sorry for the incomplete response. I will try to think more global.
