Newbie question. Should I be trimming this?

First time poster here. What an awesome site this is!

I was given a couple of clones from a friend (GG#4 & Poison Durban) and I thought I would try my hand at growing. These girls are in their 5th week of vege and I started LST a week or two ago. I have watched videos of pruning and defoliation and I am hesitant to start cutting off nodes without knowing what I am doing. I see a lot of nodes off the main stems and along with small leaves and I am semi-confident that if I trim these the rest will start growing stronger. Should I be cutting off these small branches and leaves in these pics? I feel they are taking nutrients away from the other areas that need it more. Is it too soon/too late to cut some of these off? Any help is always appreciated

Some people do, some people don't.
Personally I do.
But be aware that it slows down the overall development of your plants for a while and ripoff a natural source of nuts. Talking about fan leaves here.
I use to clone these 4, 6 lower branches, cuz it's hard to light in there. In the end, will provide small buds, better concentrate on the upper ones.
