So I am about a month away from finishing my first grow, and I wanted to share a few things I have learned along the way. I hope it will help out, and if any of the info is incorrect, senior members in the know please correct me so I don't mess up people. Let me start with saying how much I have enjoyed this first grow, and I am going to start again in the fall. I am growing Misty under a 400 HPS cool tube. I started with 5 plants, and 4 of them were male, so just one female is left. She looks good, and is getting really frosty!!

A few things I have learned.
1. If you are using soil, I have a few things I will do different next time. I am going to use 5 gallon pots next time. I am using a 10 inch pot, and my girl is root bound. Because of this she is very sensitive to low water, and nutes. I have to be careful and read her. It is good to learn how to read plants though for the next time. Also I am using Fox Farm Ocean soil. I have had Magmesium deficienty problems. I am going to add Dolomite lime next time to soil before planting to control PH and get some of the secondary nutes that seem to be lacking from this soil.
2. Please don't cut off the fan leaves on the bottom of the plant. I did this, and then read how horrible it is so PLEASE don't do it.
3.HPS REALLY IS BETTER. I have read people going back and forth about this. I started my tomatoes under flors. Once they got started I put two under the HPS and the others under the flors. After a week the ones under the HPS were 2 times larger even though they were only getting 12 hours of light, but I am not using the new HO flors.

I hope this might help a few people out. I will write more when I am done. I think the most important thing to do is be patient, and remember that it is a learned art. Keep trying and the results will get better and better. :
