Nichia Cobs performance and opinions ?

How do the new nichia cobs perform compared to the latest cree, vero or lumileds gen3 for a smaller size LES (15 ~ 18 mm) ?

I did some quick calcs based on the data sheet which implies ~168 lumens (5070 lumens, 860ma, 35.1 Vf), which is not too shabby. spectrum is similar to a cree 3070.

Opinions ?

The specs look good and priced under $10 looks good. Haven't read of anyone running them.

more informations about that cob's would be great
for example where to purchase cheap in eu / usa ?
which type of led colour ?

In EU you can get Nichia here: http://www.leds.de/en/High-Power-LEDs/Nichia-High-Power-LEDs/ - I was thinking about getting the Series 8 (a mix of 2700 K and 5000 K could be ok).

But I'm now looking at the Citizen Citiled CLU046 (CLU046-1212C1-403M2G2). It is also quite cheap and efficient. The 80 cri 4000K version seems to have a nice spectrum for both veg and flower, which is what I am looking for. Finally it should be easy to find a driver for this CLU046. Finding a heatsink for this in the EU seems to be a bit more tricky. I would like to hear if anyone has had any experience with CLU046?

what makes a citizen clu046 better or worse than an equivalent nichia or cree ?

I' not at all sure it is better. I don't have much experience growing and zero experience with COB grow lights :-) I'm looking to build a light to cover a small 2x3 area and I just want to keep it simple. Looking at the spectrum for CLU046 it looks a bit more general purpose compared to Nichia. This means I can build grow light with one type of COB, and use it throughout the grow. Also I prefer to get the components from inside EU to avoid import taxes. Both Nichia and Citizen are easy to get, but Cree CXB is difficult.
