No light for 3 days

I read somewhere that you can sex your plant early by putting the plants into complete darkness for 3 days. If this is true will it effect the growth for more than just those 3 days, and will is this bad for the plants?

Yes, it's bad for your plants. It can actually hermaphodite them by over stressing. If they have no light for that long you have to gradually introduce them to light or they will burn. Bad idea.
