Want my advice, I'd open up the unit and see what kind of relays it uses. If they're cube, Form C, then I'd be concerned. If they're Triacs/SCRs, then you'll be okay. I build custom units, I have a website if you'd like to see more.

if you have your bud room split into half and have one half on 12 on 12 off and have the other half 12 on when the first half light is off then 12 hours off if that makes any sence

why not, there could be several reasons 1st off you wouldn't split your growroom in half, you would just build another room up to 30ft away

Mr I Can Do That For Half
The best use for these is to use the technique of multi cycling lights to save energy but you usually use 6 or more lights then place them in diagnols then rotate running times so that you get god light coverage and use half the power.# lights will be on for an hour then they go off and the 3 other come on with each lights coverage overlapping. Its sad to also improve yield.I have seen dutch growers use it but havent used it myself. If your gonna have 2 rooms I would just have 2 lights on opposite light schedues which is cheap has no power spike and easier to setup
