No Windows, Basement...

I am a first time grower but thought that this question was best suited for indoor growing. my setup is in my basement, and no windows can be opened in here, it will only be 1-2 plants and in my homemade grow box i have also put a 12v intake, and 12v exhaust fan inside for better circulation of air.

I guess my question is, am i in trouble? lol, they haven't even sprouted yet but they should in the next day or so. any help would be awesome.

I grow in a basement as well but do have windows, however it's snowing and don't open said windows. :) smell isn't too bad until the flowering stages. Once you get to that point make a DIY filter using activated charcoal (Walmart) and either large coffee cans or a 5 gallon bucket. There's threads on here showing how to make them and hook em up

Basements are great to grow in. In almost every other room if you use 600+ w hps your going to have to get creative with cooling. In a basement, however, the natural coolness (mid 60s kinda like a cave) helps greatly to keep temps down. You still need to monitor temps of coarse, but it just makes things easy. Also routing the heat into an air duct for the house is reusing energy and removing any exterior hot spots. Also in general Co2 is at the greatest point in the basement, a very nice bonus.

As a side note, make sure you watch your humidity as it can cause mold in basements if they aren't built well.

thanks a lot, it is a bit humid in my grow space, and i'm using cfl's so heat is a non issue. I have an intake and exhause fan inside my grob box, so hopefully that will be enough!
Thanks again errbody Any other advice would be awesome.
Respect!
