Noob Hydroton Question -Do you need Rockwool/Rapid Rooter?

If I am using net pots with hydroton balls, can my plants just grow roots in that? Or do I have to use rockwool/rapid rooter plugs surrounded by the hydroton to get the correct water/oxygen ratio?

You are correct, you can place CLONES directly into net pots with clay balls.

But you can NOT germ a seed in there. So if you are starting from seed you must use either rockwool cubes or rapid rooter plugs.
Rockwool can be kinda difficult to figure out. I have heard alot of Noobs using rapid rooters.

Thanks! I already germinated the seeds and am switching setups from a failed aero attempt to a DWC so the little gals (hopefully) already have substantial roots.
