Northeast flowering - or in this case not

Outdoor grow in the northeast area- How far along until I need to start worrying about my plants not flowering? I've read other posts for the northeast area and also saw NY people that are starting to flower already.
So far I'm really not seeing this plant flowering and I honestly don't think it's pre-flowering (unless I am looking for the wrong thing).

This is my first grow. The plants are durban poison and new purple power. Is it possible that these strains start to flower later?

My main concern is that they are in the ground so I have no way of just taking them indoors. They are also way too big for a garbage bag or trash can.

Its hard to tell from those pics,but I dont see any balls.Those pics are from like a week ago,can you post some current ones :confused:If not just be patient they'll do there thing when they are ready :peace:

I'll post some up some new ones tomorrow. I'm about 100% they are females, just not really sure why I'm not starting to flower.

I live in the northeast region also and I have been growing outdoors for about 4 years now. I notice that my plants start to flower around the end of July. If these guys had a late start or not enough light they may take longer to hit hte flowering stage. from the pics in the link you provided, it looks like they do not get enough light; Based on that they were planted early in the year. I agree with chewy, they will do there thing when they are ready and that should be soooon!You will be token in no time :blsmoke:

The garden gets a good amount of sunlight during the day. They were started early indoors. What would lead you to believe that the sunlight is an issue?

Depending on the strain these plants can reach hights up to 8' with stalks atleast 1.5" in diameter. I have notice that morning to afternoon sunlight is the best. One of my plants right now is pushing 7.5' tall, 5' wide, and still growing like a weed! It seem that all plants that get morning to afternoon sunlight grow taller wider and yield more, after pruning a bit. It could just be your strain, why they look small. What times of the day so yours get sunlight? how tall is your tallest plant? I get direct sun from 8am to 4pm roughly.

I'll find out tomorrow how long they are in direct sunlight during the day.
These have been getting lst since they were babies so the main stem and other branches were never allowed to just grow straight up. The one plant is easily about 8ft or more and another is around 7ft IF they were going straight up.


Chewwey- How tall are your plants? It might be the pictures but mine seem taller. Though your plants are bushier.


My main concern is that they will end up flowering too late to finish. Do they look like I will need to force flower them? Obviously this is my first time growing so I wasn't expecting some huge yield.

Ok I checked the amount of direct sunlight the plants are getting. I know I am not dead on, but it's in between 5-6 hours per day.

I'd say around 9:30-10:00am they start to get direct sunlight until about around 3.

Have they started to flower yet. They may be a little late because of the amount of light given.

mines just starting to flower
you gotta wait a lil bit u gotta look at the main stem and like 3/4th up on the plant and up and were they branch out there should be like green ^ comming out

If my plant has a decent amount of pistils already (no buds) will she finish before the first frost? I am in Northeast (NY) region.

My plants still aren't showing much. I figure they either will or they won't.

In the future I will stick to autoflowering strains or just indoors. I don't like not having any control over my plants. They are too damn big to cover I think. I'd have to get a tarp to cover them at this point and it would stick out like a sore thumb.

i live in the norteast and mine are all starting to bud mine are all indica and yours look like sativa i think they take a little longer to flower if im not mistaken

I'm in New England and my girls just started this week.....though it was a rainy season up here.the flowering does appear to be contolled by sunlight
