OBAMACARE ARCHITECT ADMITS THE BILL WAS A LIE

An architect of the federal healthcare law said last year that a "lack of transparency" and the "stupidity of the American voter" helped Congress approve ObamaCare.

In a clip unearthed Sunday, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Jonathan Gruber appears on a panel and discusses how the reform earned enough votes to pass.

He suggested that many lawmakers and voters didn't know what was in the law or how its financing worked, and that this helped it win approval.

"Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Gruber said. "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass."

Gruber made the comment while discussing how the law was "written in a tortured way" to avoid a bad score from the Congressional Budget Office. He suggested that voters would have rejected ObamaCare if the penalties for going without health insurance were interpreted as taxes, either by budget analysts or the public.

What else is our government lying about?

Well I don't really know how to respond, you took one part of the whole conversation and are extrapolating it into a bigger issue. Universal healthcare is good for the country, more people working less people sittin on the couch.

Too bad it isn't working out that way. More people not working , the ones that are keep having to take wage reductions or lower paying jobs.
Like the latest job report was 90% of new jobs were women being employed as waitresses.

The ACA is just a way for insurance companies to keep making money. It hasn't reduced the costs of anything.
It also is not universal health care.

HIPAA was not designed to keep your personal info safe, it was designed so insurance companies could look at all of your pre-existing conditions.

Can you believe some people bought into the aca from the beginning? And still continue to. I think they need a good slap of reality. Where are the defenders of this at now...convincing themselves the truth is a lie I guess. Maybe there is something to pot rotting the brain. When all is said and done, we will put obama's legacy in a 4 page pop-up book. Just sayin.

For many people the ACA is heaven sent. Poor and sick people without employment can now get medical care paid for by people who work.

Wouldn't you rather pay other peoples bills instead of saving or investing for the day when you are no longer able to work?

And there are those people who could care less if it was a lie or not.
As long as they get theirs and someone else is paying for it.

There are also those who work for companies that have terrible insurance and then obamacare comes around so they sign up for it and they end up getting screwed too.

Not everyone is looking for a handout, but this broken ass healthcare act should have never passed.

Really, I haven't heard about that one. Whats the penalty for feeding and petting the homeless. They gonna throw you out of florida.
well it isn't Florida per se, but Fort Lauderdale. A city ordinance, not a state law. It isn't against the law to feed homeless people either, that would be unconstitutional, it is illegal to feed homeless people in the city without the proper license.
If you are arrested for it and although do not physically resist your arrest, but merely vocalize your disagreeableness to such arrest, you will be charged with another crime too, "Resisting without violence."

Not sure what the penalties are, but charging people for vocally resisting is pure idiocy.

They are about to lock that 90 year old man up for 60 days.

He is 90 years old.
He faces a maximum fine of 200 dollars and up to 60 days in jail max. Most likely will receive a full suspension of sentence. Maybe a small fine is all.
A judge locking him up and the clergy men that were also charged, isn't going to win any elections.

Different stories, one says 200 one says 500. Either way the thought of it is ludicrous and is a drain on the judicial system. Instead of catching methheads or rapists they are tacking down old men feeding the homeless. Much better uses of our tax money.
