Odd things happen on the first few nodes, all good after that. Why?

It seems like lower branches are more likely to have a hermie node, producing seeds in buds. Other weird stresses/mutations seem to occur on early branches/nodes but tend to go away/not show up during later development (e.g., twisted leaves).

If it were strictly genetics, you'd think seeds and twisted leaves would be more prevalent. Is it just that younger plants are more vulnerable to these issues, and there are environmental factors I should be focusing on? I'm not noticing any major nutrient deficiencies/burn, so perhaps it's more to do with humidity/temp/light intensity (i.e., my remaining areas to focus on).

I don't have a problem with seeds on every plant. I'm only looking for incremental improvements, I'm not expecting a miracle and my buds are good -- I'm going for great! Every round runs a little cleaner than the last. I've also made improvements/added efficiencies along the way.

It seems like some of the underdeveloped bud areas also produce seeds ... seeds/other weak points aren't all over the plant. I'm just trying to narrow down the point(s) in time I'm allowing the plants to be exposed to stress that would trigger pollination.

some of this I can resolve by just not cloning particular plants. I've done that to some extent and have seen a reduced occurrence of these issues. However, when you move plants between separate grow areas for seedlings/clones, veg, bloom ... and sometimes power off the lights for 24-48 hrs to go out of town ... shit happens. Plus, although I've made significant efforts to reduce heat and humidity in the grow areas, I know none of the areas are 100% dialed in with extensive sensors or anything.
