Odor Question When Will Scrubbing Be Needed?

Ordered some Jock Horror seeds from nirvana and will be beginning a grow soon (hopefully). When will I need to begin worrying about odor? I'll be building a carbon scrubber but need to know when I should plan getting it finished.

I'll be venting to the outside and although I live in a somewhat rural area, I want to be a stealthy as possible.

My flowering room s going to be 5' X 5' and 6' tall. I'll have access to three 400 watt HPS and two 175 watt MH (for veg).

Thanks

You can expect smell as soon as they pop out of the ground...

Seriously though, most likely noticeable smell will begin when the plant starts to show sex or is at the 6/7th node or about 6/7 inches tall or at about 3 to 5 weeks...of course it only gets better from there.
Good Luck!

Thanks! I'll get started on the scrubber in a week or two then and focus on getting my room up and running.

Thanks again!

You'll know when its time to scrub :joint:but by the time you know you wont have time to plan anything & get it done quickly, dont fuck around, get the stuff & make a plan while you have time,it comes faster than you think.

Yeah what panhead said, get your scrubber ready. Plants vary from when they start to smell. Expect to smell something around a month or so give or take a week. Then they really smell once the start flowering.

I have a plan al set. I have one of those old large Bionaire air purifiers that use those insanely expensive (and large) HEPA filters. Instead of using the HEPA filter, I'm going to make a frame out of 2 X 2's and insert carbon filter cloth in them and then staple nylon screening to both sides and put it in the machine. This thing moves insane amounts of air on high. I'll just run it on low and have a secondary fan venting to the outside and am going to run an ionic purifyer at the same time.

I plan to also build another carbon scrubber I saw in the DYI pages as a backup for when this thing eventually goes (which should be awhile since I got it new and hardly ever used it).

I'm going to have one spare of everything (lights and such) that way I can get back up top speed when things start to go. My backup stuff won't be as good as my primary but good enough to get me by and buy me a little time.
