OFFICAL: First Grow, needs inputs!

Hi all,

Today, I finally started my closet grow, I will be growing with Hydroponics DWC system that I will be making myself. I am still feel a little uneasy when it comes to my lighting and a couple of other subjects. I don't think I have enough lighting for my future grow. Here are what I am using:

LIGHTING

VEG
2 - T12 Philips 4 ft. 40-Watt/ Natural light
linear shape and a bi-pin plug.
Light output: 2,600 lumens
Energy used: 40 watts
Average life: 9,000 hours
Lasts for up to 7 years
2 - T12 Philips 4 ft. 40-Watt/ Day Light
Light output: 2,325 lumens
Energy used: 40 watts

4 - 6500K CFL100W
2 - 5000K CFL60W

FLOWERING
1 - Sunshine System GlowPanel 28 Watt 45 LED Grow Light
GlowPanel 45® uses only 28 Watts of power and surpasses the output of a 250
Watt HPS.
6 - CFL (from my Veg room) 2700K 60W

Are my Lighting efficient enough for 4-5 grown plants and a few cones in my VEG room? What about my flowering room?

Will I hope this post is clear enough, I hope that someone can help chime in and help with with my watering and lighting questions. I have not mention that, do I have to have a drip system once my plant is big enough for Hydroton? Also, how OFTEN and MUCH do I have to water the seedlings/sprouts once then sprouted and are placed into the rockwool?..Also, once transported the rockwool do they need to be on a 24/0 light cycle? Yo dude read these three threads by Al-B-Fuct, hes a growing legend and most info you want is in these threads plus they are real intresting to read. That said they are like 170 pages each but recomended reading for a novice such as yourself here. Seriously read em there good and also deal with rockwool.

Id ditch the leds and cfls for flowering and go with an air cooled 400w hps. The T12 flourescents give good results for veg and were widely used before the slightly stronger T8's and T5's. Peace

def not an expert on leds. never have used one due to their cost but if that is comparable to a 250w hps you will need to keep them small if doing 5. maybe start with the autos and see how she does. maybe do a journal id love to see your grow. great choice on the decision to grow and good luck!!

Thanks guys for all the help and suggestions, I have decide i am going to be buying a 400W HPS system from Amazon. I was worry at first because of my power bill and Heat issues. However, i have been doing some research and found out I will only be using 20 bucks a month for the 400W HPS unit (not including fan, timers, etc.), so as of right now i will be using my 4 T12 40W for top lighting with 4-6 CFL for side lighting in my VEG room, as for my Flowering like I have mention above I willl be using a 400 W HPS unit.

Sounds like a pro setup dude, shouldnt notice the elecy bill much with a 400watter and few flouros, think you'll be fine here plus its only on for 12 hours a day. Would ensure adequate ventilation and cooling for 400w light. Peace and good choice
