ok to cut plant in half?

my plant is too tall and im going to harvest twice anyways. and i was going to harvest the top because its getting too tall and its not getting much light although it is budding quite well still. so is it ok to completely cut a foot off the top of the plant and keep the bottom half growing or is that going to kill it?

It won't kill it but it might certainly stunt it's growth for a little bit. You really should've topped it in veg, your best buds going to be the top cola. To cut it early and leave the rest just seems like a waste, maybe bend it around or something.

It wont kill it but if its budding good the way it is now so why would you want to chop it in half? especially if your doing a staggered harvest....makes no sense to go and chop off the top of the plant like that. tie the plant down a bit and you'll be fine.

u can harvest half on the plant,in this case the top half, throw it back under ur lights and give it a week or so before it begins to continue fattning up...cause thats all thats really gna do.dont expect to see another set of colas. just the popcorn nugs and smaller tops swell a little get nice and dense..assuming u have sufficiant lighting.goodluck

I VERY VERY STRONGLY advise you not to do this, its painful to think of some noob doing something like this(no offense anyone.) your doing a staggered harvest and want to chop up for no good reason what would be the first part of the harvest thats budding good and is the top cola your doing something incredibley stupid.

Can you do it? sure the plant will put on more weight after about a week or so. However, Unless you absolutely have to, I would just tie down the top cola sideways.

Do not cut it unless it is ready! When it is ready you can cut it off and leave the rest there for them to fully mature if they are not already
