Organic nutrients are the ones that really can't handle any long-term storage as they're going to break down more quickly than the artificial nutrients will.

I would check the labels to see if they're expired, and if not, then use them. But if you've had them on a back shelf forever, they're probably bad and you don't want to waste your time with bad nutrients.

lesson learned, no?

liquid organics may or may not be alright...if they have an expiration date check it...if they don't, then I assume they have no shelf life issues...surely they would have to say something on the bottle...some sort of timeline of use...

usually dry things last forever...so no worries with anything granulated...but liquid organic nutes may very well be bad...

I'm using some 10+ year old Peters 50-50-50 granular.
Still works.
I did the same thing left my flora nova nutes in the drawer for 2yrs, I'm starting again now. Looks like its working fine soo far. The guy at the hydro store said the plants would let me know if it had expired and I shouldn't waste my money!lol I also have small crystal like balls in it, his response was depends what size...as long as they are not very large its ok to mash them up, app this doesn't happen if you store them cool enough. long story short about 3 weeks in everything is ok!

I have a gallon of GH flora micro and a gal of flora bloom that are at least 3 years old. Been frozen solid and been in over 100° heat. I don't think these nutes are any good. I've had deficiency after deficiency and more nute lockout in flower. I think I'll be diluting this GH micro and bloom and spread it out on some ornamental shrubs outside. I wasn't able to store them in a cool dry dark place. No crystals formed but I'm thinking they are expired bc I've been having probs when I use them. Switched over to botanicare since I got 3 new quarts for veg, bloom, and soil. Got a Chocoloco 6 weeks in flower and she has a lot of leaves that look like magnesium deficiency.I I've flushed her and given her Cal-Mag, gave her fresh nutes, but I think I'm having issues with my old GH nutes. What does this yellowing and dying of the leaves look like to you? She's in happy frog all natural dirt. She can't be almost done flowering be I only switched to 12/12 six weeks ago.

I have a great deal of experience with this strain (Chocoloco) and can tell you it looks like a Ph issue that I had once, but I grew in Promix. Soil is a different animal. What type of water? PPM after flush was? For now, I would give her next watering with Ph'd RO water and Unsulphured Molasses ONLY. Cut worst leaves so new ones are noticed and check next day for issues.
Blessings ;)

Really. So explain how this breaks down. It's no problem as long as you have no mold growing. Thing, does soil go bad? They could be 20 years old and there still is no problem.

Im using 1.5 year old GH, GO and Botanicare nutes right now. All is well. Smell them if they smell different than they did new or you shake the bottle and hear solids inside toss them. I left mine in the garage over the summer and they still did nit go bad.
