Hey guys, I know there is some info on these here, but it is sparse. heres the deal, I scored one of these from a buddy who was "forced" to get rid of all of his stuff, (marital issues).
anyways, i inherited this complete system, but i really dont need to run it, as i have my setup running, and have all the room i need. I have a buddy who wants to give it a go, and he has very limited space. so ill set it up and get it all running for him.
the previous owner stated he had good results with it, the only issue he had later in its use was the belt would sometimes slip. I see this as a serious issue. (its the first gen model with the belt drive). I also notice that the pulley on the motor seems to be bent, there's play in the shaft. I am thinking of assembling the whole unit and seeing what it would take for me to convert it to a chain drive. I believe i have a solution to convert it, if need be.
Im wondering what others experiences were with the drive belt? and if they had problems, what did they do to fix it?
If anyone here has any experiences with this setup, please give me some feedback. From taking everything out of the box's, it looks like the only thing needed will be a pump, and a res. As far as a res goes, what would be the right size? i have a pineapple chunk mom that i will be cloning soon to make a pile of moms to feed this unit.
