Most breeders estimates are based on ideal dry yield from a square meter of sea of green under 1000w lamps with co2, high end food and all the other accoutrements.
Some breeders just plain make them up, dont take them for any more than a general guideline. At the end of the day, they sell seeds that cost very little to produce (usually. some of the big guys have serious breeding programs where they select from thousands of plants) and can go for hundreds of dollars for 10. Its in their best interest to make you think you're buying something really special so they'll tell you it'll yield 1000 grams at 24% thc. 24% of what? 1000 grams wet\dry?
