I received 5 free from MSNL with my order. I finished one up a month or so ago. It did very well. I don't smoke, but my wife says it's the best I've ever grown. Her favorite which is pretty impressive since I've grown several different kinds.
My favorite Sour D strain is Strawberry Sour Diesel by Devils harvest. The original NYSD is just fine as it is but this one crossed with Strawberry cough which is mostly sativa; makes for a nice hybrid that finishes in slightly under 10 weeks. Potent and tasty AF. Distinct Sour fuel flavor out front with sweet fruity undertones. Not the best yielder; buds are a compact but dense type of structure. Complex flavors and one two punch make up for it. To get a nice haul really need to train and veg this one out.
This is a good strain to cross with a higher yielder if you have the patience. I crossed one super frosty SSD girl with a smelly KOS Candyman Haze daddy and the results are quite impressive. Still got hundreds of seeds from that run stored in the bank. I don't have any recent pics but here's a link to my old thread from way back in May 2017. You can see what the original SSD bud looks like in the pics on pg 10.
Hopefully you can still find these beans...
Some amazing photos @Richard Drysift !! How are you liking your mix, I've read the beginning and end of your thread just gotta read the middle now, are you still happy with your recipe! Just curious if you're finding any tweaks you might want to endorse for next time and other fellow...

Dick, you still running this by chance? I been looking for these seeds ever since following your posts about the ssd years ago. I finally found some seeds, but they are fem and was curious if you grew yours from fem seed or regular? Ive heard reports of hermis with the ssd and try to avoid fem seed, but was curious if you thought theyd be worth picking up? Guy is selling them pretty cheap as well.

Yes I started out with fem seeds long time ago and then crossed with several other strains. This year I crossed SSD x CMH with a blue dream male to keep them going. Haven’t run the offspring yet.
You’ll always run the chance of a herm with fem seed but as long as there are no light leaks it’s usually easy to just pluck em if they do occur. Yes they are worth getting if from a reputable breeder.
