first time grower here and was looking for opinions and advice on overall plant health and possible steps for improvement. im growing in an organic soil medium under 6 100w cfl bulbs. fed miracle grow indoor plant food at every watering (about every three days). i had a pretty rocky start with plant and im sure that general stress and the low budget closet grow room has a lot to do with its tall thin appearance. is there anything i can do to improve the size of these buds with the equipment i have available. or any secret tricks out there? i know i cant expect too much with my current setup but advice is greatly appreciated. shes exactly 5 weeks into flower and she just seems thin. what do ya think?

They look fine. A little stretchy. MG scaresme. Best advice I can give is keep those cfls as close as possible. Looks like you needmore top light.
i had all six lights hanging above the plant at one time but decide to move them to the positions you see in the pics thinkibg i needed more light toward the bottom. do you think it would be a good idea to hang them back up?

I would put each light above each of the tops, pretty close, like GD said above. (I think I counted 6 possible tops) Get the top colas as big as you can.

You up for an experiment?? You could super-crop all 6 branches in one direction near the top of the container, laying everything horizontal and tie them together loosely, then place all 6 lights in a row right above the horizontal branches. All the popcorn buds would now be level with the tops and would grow towards the lights. Might be too late at 5th week though. Something to think about if you see that much stretch after 2nd week of flower.

Haha, I say you do what this guy said. Harvest the top buds or whatever then reveg the shitty little pointless buds and while she takes forever to reveg you can save for a better flower light. Then you will have a crazy monster cropped beast to go under a nice new flower light. I dont know what you budget is or what it will be in the future, but scrounge up $100-$150 and you can buy a WICKED light. You only need a fan and filter if your concerned of smell. other then that just get a good light, control the heat, use a fan for airflow, get some decent nutes, basic soiless mix and you are on your way man.

I would consider a mixed spectrum if your not already, make sure to train your plants for an even canopy when using cfls during veg, try SCROG and like Gibbs said get better soil brother MG has been pulled off with many people but give those plants TLC spoil the roots and results are in the shoots! happy growing and good luck!!:weed:

That plant looks really good for a first cfl grow. You haven't overfed, burnt, or locked her out.
As noted earlier, level out the canopy on the next grow, and upgrade light as you can. Any tube bulb is better than 23W clf, even T-8.
