Oregon medical perpetual grow?

So i should hopefully have my MMJ card as early as next week. I wont be able to setup a grow for a few months, so I am trying to figure a few things out. I've done my fair share of research, but still have a few questions.

For anyone that doesn't know, Oregon allows up to 6 mature plants (mature being over 12 inches in height and/or diameter OR any plant that is in the flowering stage). It also allows up to 18 seedlings (anything up to 12 inches in height and diameter). Also no more than 24 ounces of usable cannabis.

I was wondering, if anyone had any ideas as how to put out as much bud per month as possible? Without going over the limits that is. I'd like to start planning out what I need to purchase over the next few months, but first I need to know how I am going to run it.

Chances are I'll have a tent for flowering, and a random closet devoted simply to vegging and clones or whatever the case may be. I'd like to start with soil and steer clear of hydro for now, seeing as how this will be my first attempt. Most likely be purchasing a 600w HPS for flowering. Also probably be trying some AK48 just for it's grower-friendly traits everyone seems to love.

Any and all suggestions/input would be welcomed. My first post here I know, I tend to hover around GC, but RIU seems to be better geared towards growing info/experience. Thanks!

There are several threads here about perpetual grows, it's just a matter of planning the phases and timing things with different grow areas

I would be more inclined to do a Northern Lights strain, very easy to grow and has less smell to deal with

I agree with going soil for new growers as it is more forgiving

Good Luck and welcome to RIU!

Hey. Im on the Oregon program too! It's so horrible we are restricted to 6 fully mature plants!!! I wish I could do a sea of green grow with many smaller plants.

Most people I know around here don't try to do a perpetual crop. I like to transplant 6 clones, put them all into veg (I highly recommend using t5 fluorescent lamps for veg) at the same time, and into flower at the same time and harvest a big, 6 plant crop. A problem you can run into with this is having different strains that aren't finishing at the same time, and then not having a large plant in veg ready to take its place. Of course, you can do a perpetual crop, but you would need more space to get the plants big enough to be worth having 5 or less in flower at once. 3 and 3 would prob. make the most sense.

Depending on what part of oregon you live in, or if you have a green house, outdoor is an option many people choose. You can grow six monster plants (i've seen plants outdoors, properly prunned, fertilized, etc. that were at least 10ft wide x 10ft tall) at once and have a massive harvest in fall. The problem with outdoors is you plant anywhere from late april to june and the plants (again depending on your climate and the strain) finish anywhere from august to november! So Im sure you'd rather not wait that long for your first crop, lol.

I would also highly recommend looking up Oregon Green Free, MAMA's, and Oregon NORML.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions! I read through all of Minitrees' journal, and DAMN. I think I'll probably be going down Minitrees' route. It would also be easier to focus on 4 plants the majority of the time as well, won't have to be stressing about multiple timetables and whatnot. To top it off one of my closets should be plenty big for the plants and the heat. I'll always be open to suggestions about different methods and theories. I think more research is due for which strain I want to grow, but I'm a lot further in general in my planning phases. Thanks again! :bigjoint:
