Find a weeping willow tree pull off some young shoots and steep them in some water in the sun for a day. The water will contain rooting hormones.
I have read that the old way is to leave the sprigs/shoots in the water til
they sprout new growth, then use the water. I've also read to break up a few bits into some water (a gallon let's say? maybe a handful of pieces about an inch or two long I'm gonna guess for a starting point) and gently steep it, then cool.
I think aspirin is another way, but maybe not exactly organic (but frugal!).
I have a seaweed extract that, at a very strong dilution, is supposed to be a rooting agent and it is all-natural/organic. And I also use a hippie juice that's got mycorrhizae, which encourage growth of hair roots.
