I've been thinking about this lately as I am going to be growing outdoors in Florida in the forest (check out my journal). It seems like as long as you give the plant a long enough period of time before harvesting to flush out the pesticide, you should be fine. Can anyone speak to this?

people it is a pesticide not a herbicide it wont hurt the plant and it wont put poison into your plant.
if your pesticide has a withholding period then that is how many days before you harvest that you stop using it.
pesticides are not absorbed into the plant it stays on the outside where the pests are

i have gardensafe brand pesticide and it says you can use it even on the day of the harvest. seems like these companies wouldnt fuck you over by making the pesticides poisonous to humans

Good points. There are lots of holes eaten out of the leaves of the other foliage around my grow area. If I dont use a pesticide, I'll have a bunch of dead or half eaten plants.
