Outdoor grower with cfl question.

At the moment i have 5 NL seedlings that sprouted on the 1st. My intention was to strictly grow them outdoors with no interference. I changed my mind and have decided to use 4 100w cfls to veg them at night as well, so they will be outside during the day and i will bring them inside at night. They are in a small box that sits in my closet(10x3x3), the door will stay open and my room fan will be on. My question is would this be bad for the plants? Do i really need a hardcore setup? Will this help to make monster plants or just end up stressing them? My first experience with indoor, thanks.

Im currently vegging plants under 2 125w cfls and a few t5 bulbs, trying to get them as big as possible for a mid/late april plant outdoors. Im kind of confused about what your wondering will stress your plants out? Ive mainly grown outdoors aswell up until early last year when I invested for my indoor setup, so far so good, nothing has died(knockonwood) and Im about to have my 3rd successful harvest. If your thinking about going indoor I would suggest getting some hid lighting atleast for flowering, the amount of space and plants should determine how many watts you use. Let me know what your worried about? Peace

They still need a light cycle, otherwise the leafs get all funky like super soft and wide - I dunno what this means for the plant but it can't be good.

idont know exactly but I'm pretty sure it would stress ur plants to bringing them from outside to inside daily, you gotta think that the sun is a hell of alot more powerful on every aspect. From my experience plants tend to get comfortable in pretty much any grow situation, but any small/slight changes can have an adverse affect on ur plants. My suggestion is do ur idea, but only as an experiment with one or two plants and use that as ur base for future indoore to outdoor grows

Plants dont need a cycle for veg, you can run 24/0 and never have any problems, although some will argue that it produces more males/hermies than a traditional 18/6 cycle. Where did the soft funky leaves come from, I dont see anything about leave health in the original post, not sure what the question really is.

Ive put my small plants outdoors during sunny days for years without having any problems and I used to just use a few plain ol flourescent shop lights for young plants, honestly have never had any problems, more intense light is always gonna make plants grow faster and nothing beats the sun.

i was just concerned about the difference in lighting, being in the sun all day then coming into a less desirable light source. thanks for the input

Yeah Ive never had any problems at all, infact Ive seen better results with plants that do go out on sunny days compared to when they stay under the cfl's, basicly just more growth. I like to take advantage of the sun whenever the weather permits it, so personally Ive never had any problems but probably wise to do your own research to see if anyone has. Just yesterday I was out finishing my fence and had all 18 out on the deck soaking it up, I already got half my big ass holes dug so Im ahead of the game this year, cant wait brotha. thanks man, i am also planning on transfering in ground around april. Last year i started around april and was outdoor al the way. I ended up with a really healthy plant but this year i wanted to experiement with lst with bigger plants. I have never used indoor lighting before and i am only using the cfls as a starting point. I might try and flower 1 or 2 plants inside just to see how they turn out. Thanks again for alleviating my concerns.
