Over-watering?

I just noticed that a couple of my leaf tips were turning brown, I did a search and came up with results saying I was over-watering? does this sound right? (I water about every other day) also it says for over-watering, you should let your plant dry out for a week or so, is that true?

It's common with new growers. Pictures? How often and how much do you water?

I haven't taken any pictures yet, and it's night time in my grow room. I'll post some here tomorrow. I water every other day with a spring water bottle, pots are 1 gallon. My medium is 50% soil / 50% perlite.

But do you measure how much you water?

i wait until my pots are light to pick up (completely dried out) before i water. also, the plants start looking droopy and "sad" when they are getting thirsty.

i thought droopyness is from overwatering not underwatering.. o.o could it be from either?
