smoke report will come after the cure is further along...about 1 1/2-2 week cure so far.
grow background info
*Medium - Fox Farm Ocean forest. nothing added to it.
*Light - veg and first month of flower - 1 600w hps. second month flower 2 600w hid's
*water - ph'd to 5.8-6.0
*techniques - super crop, minor lst, and topping (topped 1 time each)
*number of plants - 5 in 5 gallon buckets
*nutes - fox farm grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom
veg period - 29 days.
flower - ranges from 52-61 days (some harvested sooner than others...)
ease of growth - in veg: 9....in flower about 7. seems to be sensitive to nutes during flower...also buds are VERY dense..ventilation is not optional. i had to waste about 6 grams due to bud rot/mold on 2 colas. note that my humidity in flower never surpassed 58% (once it reached 58% it would be lowered to 45-50%...sometimes humidity was as low as 37%...and still mold...so be warned...however it didnt spread quickly so it wasnt a problem.
smell: this stuff smells amazing while growing...it DOES have a skunky/mj undertone but what really stood out to me was the starburst like scent that they give off. i wouldnt say this is great for stealth as the smell IS there but its not very strong; at times the starburst/fruity smell was the most dominating smell. its still curing so it has that not done drying/new weed smell but the fruity undertones is becoming more and more present day by day.
appearance - nugs are very dense beautiful bag appeal...VERY frosty..some buds will turn a white/blue like color...pretty much just like the picture shows from seed vendor websites (ie. attitude/wwms). nice thick dark orange hairs...buds are very indica like (ie. rocks!)
my 2 favorite things about growing this strain (so far as i cant comment on the high yet) is the appearance and smell. if it smokes like it smells/looks then its top shelf imo.
my biggest complaints are its sensitivity to flower nutes, mold, and pest resistance.
i think its best qualities are (as stated before) appearance, smell, and ease of growth in veg.
in just 29 days under 1 600w hps these things got HUGE! tallest one going into flower was 18 1/2"! smallest was about 12-14 inches.
very nice.
the buds are all officially dried at this point.
final yield between 5 plants = 24g more than 3/4lb!
this is a HUGE step up from my last grow of 6 big bang seeds under 1 600w hps (only 8oz even)...this time i have just shy of 13oz.
also while i did add a 600w mh during flower (as the 5 plants couldnt all fit under the 1 hps) i dont believe that alone contributed to the extra 5 oz (or just shy of 5oz extra).
my smallest yielder of the bunch was 2 1/4 oz while my biggest yielder had 3 1/3oz.
im happier with this strain more than any other i've grown. while it did give me more problems than other strains ive grown, most problems were pretty easily corrected and they didnt hermie. (they were fem seeds btw)
overall in the grow side of it i'd give it a solid 8.5 out of 10.
my tip to anyone interested in growing this strain is: treat them right and they will yield for you what you desire.
smoke report will be HERE when the cure is finished.
btw...i ordered 7 of these beans in the batch i planted...5/7 sprouted...2 didnt for some unknown reason...they were treated the same way as the other 5 and these are the only 2 ive never got to germinate..ever..
so idk if its the company i got them from...or paradise...or if its just dumb luck..
either way if the smoke is as good as the rest of it then i will EASILY be back for more from paradise!
