Pazzo's S.O.G 250w Cabinet Grow

Hey guys i've just started browsing the forums and thought i'de go ahead and post up my grow. Right now i'm growing White Widow for the 3rd straight time using the SOG method. My cabinet is 24"Wx15"Dx70"H, not a very big cabinet but it does get the job done.

I have averaged about 3-4 ounces per harvest with 4 plants in 7L pots. I'm currently testing to see how I could do with 16oz cups to see how much I can get as well. Now to be fair I wasn't going to do this but I thought 2 of the 3 i'm testing were gonna be male so I was going to toss them but when I found out they were female I said screw it and left them in there starting cups.. but cut out the bottom half of the cup and put in some more dirt at the bottom of another cup and put it back in.. not a real transplant but hey i got space issues (1L pots would be ideal tho). :-?

Ok the big girls are currently about 6.5ish weeks into flower and the little ones I would say about 4-5.. they were stressed pretty bad, especially one of them (was out of the cab for almost a week). I feed with PBP bloom for soil and some cal-mag nutes for flower and tend to use fish fertz for veg.

Below are pictures of my babies, as you can see in that last pic she's a tri-node.. kinda skinny compared to the others but still cool lookin none the less. Well, tell me what you guys think. :eyesmoke:

Thanks, I plan on halfing the cabinet soon and putting a mom/clone chamber on top and flower chamber on bottom. It would be nice to have a perpetual harvest every 2 months of 3 ounces, but thats low.. I can pry get up to 4-5 if done right.

The next strain I wanna do is C99xA11, I hope that one will fit in my cab nicely and not be too stretchy. I think i'm going to try and reveg my smallest Widow plant and keep her for cloning too, and in the mean time grow out the C99xA11.. make seeds and keep a mother as well. Still trying to figure out how I wanna do it.

Well i've never really grown in a closet before, mainly just cabinets.. but the idea is the same. Need a light and ventilation.. then u go from there.

i read that having 3 leave sat each joint is a mutation and that plants will be smaller and weaker. personally i wouldnt use it as a clone mother but test it out and let me know how it is i will be watching

can u help and explain to me how to set up in a cabinet?
Well, first off get a cabinet sufficient for you. My room has a knook where my cabinet fits perfectly, and if I wanted too i'm sure I could even put it in my closet if I needed a bit more stealthier of a grow. Also if you get a taller cabinet like mine I suggest getting a piece of plywood to put on the back for more stability.

My cabinets grow space is 2.5 square feet (24"x15"), so I have a 250w light. I would suggest getting a HPS/MH light but I do know for me temps have been a huge issue, I didn't even grow for 2 months in the summer so I wouldn't have to deal with it.. I live up north so we don't have AC. My problem has always been that my room itself gets too hot so my cabinet then gets hot even with good ventilation, I currently average about 81-85 degrees during the light cycle (topped out up to 100 before I got it under control). So you're lighting is up to you, a lot of people tend to go with CFL's for cabinet's but I could never ditch HID lighting for flowering.

Now after you have your cabinet and light you will need a good ventilation system. What I have done is drilled 4-5 1" holes at the bottom of my cab for intake and I have a Vortex 4" inline duct fan that with a 172 CFM rating. Now with hindsight I would probably get a smaller fan because I bought a fan controller for it just so I could turn it down to half power.. was a lot more powerful then i anticipated.

After that you will need your standard grow supplies such as pots, soil, fertilizers, seeds, etc. Not sure how much you've already read so i'll just stop there. I plan on doing a new thread with my new grow after this one is done so I can do a more step by step grow from beginning to end..

Well I would have to agree.. she is really cool lookin but other then that I dunno. My other 2 are soooo much fatter then her so i'm sure I won't keep her as a mother. I'm still kinda wondering if i'll even keep one of them for a mother, still got plenty of seeds if I want one.

i would like to have the same set up as urs can u help me!!! cause i will to be growing the white widow.
Sure, a good place to start would be with my last post.. figure out what you need. My cabinet is from Home DePot, and was easy to put together.. you can build your own from scratch if you like too.

Alright just a little update.. I went ahead and flushed the 3 big girls with 1 full gallon of pure water each. Also been looking at the trichs and it looks like there almost done, about 75% cloudy with no ambers yet.. I will pry chop them down this weekend.

I went ahead and took a bud off all 3 to test them out, want to at least see if one is going to be much better then the other to see if I wanna keep them for a mother. Sooo sticky..

Well first of all don't use tinfoil ever.. it can create hot spots either burning your plants or possibly starting a fire. Get some Mylar online or from a local hydro store. I would say go with Nirvana Northern Lights Nirvana Cannabis Seeds for your first grow, cheap seeds and it's an easy strain to grow.

For nutes go with Pure Blend Pro Bloom for Soil - quart | Organic Nutrients= for flowering and for veg, find some fish emulsions (5-1-1), i'm sure you can get that locally.. i've had mine given to me. Also get some sort of cal/mag supplement too like Cal Mag Plus - quart | Plant Nutrient Enhancers - General= .. I use that stuff every watering from birth.. I just increase doses as they get older.

Also for soil this may suprise some of you but I just use Miracle Grow soil mixed with some perlite. If you go with that soil make sure you get the one in the green bag, not the organic one.. for some reason it's just not as good in my experience. You will need some Seed Starting soil as well, brand doesn't matter.. just make sure it's for seedlings.. this is what you will start all your plants in, if you use the MG it will probably kill them. Also make sure all your soil mixes are mixed with about 1/3 perlite.

If you need more help just ask more specific questions so I can help a bit better.. here's some pics from my very first grow with northern lights.

I haven't yet harvested because they just aren't done yet unfortunately. It's hard to find an amber trich so i'm going to let them go another week, that will be 9 weeks and they should be how I like 'em. The one's in the cups are probably 1-2 weeks behind so they aren't gonna really get to finish I don't think, especially the small one. They were from seed too and I woulda much rather tested it out with clones.

When I went to water them 2 days ago when I opened the cabinet one of the small ones just fell right out and basically broke the stem at the bottom of the plant, so I cut her down. It actually worked out because i'm completely dry and needed some smoke, I quick dried some of it and didn't weight it all yet but I would say that I got almost a quarter off her. She was the best lookin one too, was really startin to take off it seemed like. :(

You can kind of see in the first pic the 2 in the 16oz. cups in the background. I think I need to just stake them up with something cause there both almost at 90 degrees without leaning on something. Wish I woulda took better care of these girls..

1st pic: All my girls
2nd and 3rd pics: The plant on the far left
4th and 5th pics: The plant in the middle
6th pic: Plant on the far right.

The one on the left and middle both look great, i'm thinking of trying to reveg one of them cause i'll have the space but I can't decide.. I like the short stocky one but the somewhat taller one seems like it has more WW characteristics. Any comments..?

i got a couple of questions...

how much did that cabinet cost you (also the electric costs per month)

is growing weed that hard

and is it easy to get caught by the cops growing?

i know its alot of question but im just curious

Well the cabinet itself cost me about 100 bucks, but everything inside including the cabinet (minus the weed) was about 500 or so, maybe a bit less.. been a while since I bought the stuff. Electricty wouldn't be over an extra $20 bucks a month I don't think. Figure if you have a desktop computer that puts off about 400 watts on average and my light only puts off 250watts.

Growing weed is not only not hard, it's fun. I've been doing it since I was 15, yes with the help of my parents (bought me my first grow cab), and i haven't stopped. You just gotta get a system down then it's like dressing yourself in the morning. As for cops, i've never had a problem, let alone been worried about cops. My grow is small so i've never had to worry about my electric bill or anything like that. Probably the biggest thing you'de have to worry about is the smell.. and that's easily fixed with a good carbon scrubber.

And don't worry about asking questions, I didn't learn overnight. I see that was your first post too, so welcome to RIU! :bigjoint:
