ph help

hi peeps, just after a bit of help if pos. just had major problems with light leaks and shit,
sorted that now just invested in a ph meter, being a lazy arse grower never checked nothing, soil is now reading 7.4 what problems will this cause? and how do i go about adjusting.

Hi - ok, so a high ph will cause you plant to be unable to take up all the different kinds of nutrients, so you definitely want to not get it higher. If plant looks very healthy like this don't do anything. If they look unhappy you want to water with some lower ph water pulling the ph a little down. On Google search: "making cheap ph-down from battery acid" and you'll find an article on how to make a cheap ph down. Just adjust your watering water to about 6 and water the plants with it. Think it will help.

iron sulfate or magnesium sulfate. Working cotton seed meal, coffee grounds, pine needles or citrus rinds into the soil will lower ph.

A high PH will cause your plants to be pale.
