i have up till now been using a cheap ph kit and a cheap ph down but as of today i got a ph pen and some good hydroponic ph down

i have one bucket which can hold 20Ltrs of water.. that i have been leaving out for 48hours before use and till now have just been guessing the ph by trying to match the colour on the chart so its never been spot on

that takes so much time to ph it find out its wrong redo it and so on

now having this pen its just a case of dipping it in the water and reading the lcd but what i would like to know is what ph do i need ? before i add nutes and after innless its the same

its 7.5 to start with outa the tap and im growing in soil

and should this change at all over the course of the grow?

thanks

How much did that pH pen run you? And what brand? I've thought about getting one. I hate guessing and matching colors.

but i got it for £21 w/d off ebay..... and it comes with pH buffer solutions (for meter calibration and accuracy checks), so just waiting now for it to get here had the email to say its on its way....also on the lcd it has the ph and temp of the water as you can see in the pic

i bought the same of ebay, but i paid like 20bucks for it, they still ripped you off:( and you have to calibrate it first, my was off by 2 ph's, put tape water to 6.5, but the tape's ph is around 8-8.5 and 8.3 was what it got after calibration:D

Well I just ordered that same one! Got it for $40 including S+H. Also I made sure to get one that has the calibration liquids included. No more guessing colors! Also picked up a digital scale. $20 100gr, .01, touch screen. AND a new bong! Today has been a wonderful day!! I love tax refunds!
